Article Studio

A good article is not one generation. It's a topic argued into an outline, an outline expanded into a draft, claims backed with citations, prose tightened, figures added — and a human saying "yes, ship it." The Article Studio makes those steps explicit, whether the agent runs them unattended or you drive each one.

The lifecycle

Across the top of every article sits a progress bar with six stages:

Topic → Draft → Citations → Polish → Illustrations → Publish

• Topic — the article exists as an intent. The outline is drafted here; you can Regenerate it with steering instructions ("more comparisons, less theory") until the skeleton is right, then Generate article from outline.
• Draft — the outline becomes a full body.
• Citations — the agent verifies claims against real sources and attaches them. Articles that cite real things read as written by someone who did the work, because the work was done.
• Polish — a dedicated pass for rhythm, redundancy, and tone.
• Illustrations — charts, diagrams, and images are generated and placed at anchored positions in the text. See AI Images for the style system behind them.
• Publish — ship it. See Publishing to Your Blog.

One button — Next: [stage] — advances the article. The middle stages hand work to the agent: the chat panel opens seeded with that stage's job, and you watch it work, steer it, or take over.

The editor

• Three views: source only, source plus preview, or preview only.
• Formatting toolbar: headings, bold, italic, lists, quotes, code, links, image insert from URL or file, undo/redo, with live word and character counts.
• Autosave: changes save silently a few seconds after you stop typing. The indicator flips between "Unsaved" and "Saving…" so you never think about it.
• Inline AI rewrite: select any passage and tell the agent how to rewrite it ("shorter", "less formal", "add an example"). Accept or discard the result — the rest of the article is untouched.
• Live figures: charts, Mermaid diagrams, and image anchors render inside the editor as foldable figure blocks, so you see the article as readers will.
• Tabs: every open article becomes a tab in the workspace top bar, like a code editor.

History and review

• Stage history (the clock icon) keeps a snapshot at each stage transition. Open any snapshot, or Diff vs current to see exactly what a polish pass changed.
• Articles awaiting review show Approve and Reject. Nothing publishes without approval — this is the deliberate bottleneck, and it's you.
• Published articles keep a View live link.

Where drafts live

Content → Drafts lists every article in progress with its state (generating, outline, pending review). The cross-brand Home screen surfaces drafts from all brands, so the review queue finds you even when you haven't opened the workspace.

Practical advice

• Spend your attention at the outline. Fixing structure costs one regeneration at the Topic stage and a rewrite at the Draft stage. Steer early.
• Use Reject freely. A rejected draft teaches you what to put in the topic's editorial intent next time.
• Don't skip Citations. It's the stage that most separates compounding content from filler.
